Who is Bigger Boy?

ACC or BIG EAST?

Bowl Projections

*All this stuff is irrelevant now. I was one of the few to pick Auburn to go to the Outback, but it is still a joke. Everything after the Capitol One is a crap shoot. When you're not that good you can't really complain though.

In honor of my former roommate.

Georgia will go to the Chick-fil-a, Music City, or most probably the Independence. I would like the Chick-fil-a because it's in an awesome time slot, the opponent could be Miami or Virginia Tech, and it is the best atmosphere of any bowl outside of the BCS. The new Peach basically gets the #6 SEC team, which would be Georgia. However, Nashville and Shreveport are still a possibility.

Florida and Bama are set in the BCS. LSU will be in the Capitol One. Tennessee looks to be in line for the Outback, but Auburn might get in there. The Cotton would naturally pick either Arkansas or Ole Miss. Ole Miss would seem to be the obvious choice. Arkansas is a game behind Ole Miss and lost to the Rebels. But, Ole Miss was there last year, the Arkansas fan base is a little more energized than Mississippi's, Arkansas has old SWC connections, and the game is now played in Jerry Jones' stadium. Ole Miss will more than likely get the nod, but the Cotton and Outback could work together to send Ole Miss to Tampa and Tennessee to Dallas if it doesn't pick Auburn. The only way any of this effects Georgia is if Arkansas sneaks into the Cotton and pushes Ole Miss to Atlanta.
The other scenario that would impact Georgia's case for Atlanta would be Tech losing in the ACC championship game(It says something that the SEC 6 is paired with the ACC 2 in a bowl game every year). If Tech loses to Clemson that would give them 3 losses. Would the CFA want Miami, VT, or a Tech team coming off 2 losses and played in the game last year? Probably not. My best guess would be VT. If it is GT, Georgia would fall to Music City or Independence.

Tennessee will be in Atlanta if the Outback does go with Auburn for some reason. The other side is if the CFA wants a new face in the game and takes Kentucky or South Carolina. It would be hard to justify Carolina because they finished behind Georgia and lost the head-to-head. But their fan base will fill the seats, stay in hotels, have not been in the game in 40 years, and have Spurrier. Kentucky finished behind Georgia and would really not make a whole lot of sense. Georgia seems to be the best choice because of the name, guaranteed sellout, and coming off a win over the 7th ranked team in the country. If its not Georgia it will be because of Auburn and the Dawgs could fall all the way to Shreveport.

NCG: Alabama/Florida
Sugar: Alabama/Florida
Capitol One: LSU
Cotton: Ole Miss
Outback: Auburn
Chick-fil-a: Tennessee
Music City: Carolina
Independence: Georgia
Liberty: Arkansas
Papa Johns: Kentucky

#9

I have never been a fan of Reshad Jones. Last year I made a post about him on OIA that cost us Ali. But last night at Historic Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium, PRJ was the best player on the field. He made an unbelievable interception, made some huge tackles, and was great in coverage all night. His reaction after a Georia touchdown showed me he wanted this one just as much as anyone. No one caught more heat after the Tech loss last year than Jones. He responded this year by having the game of his life. He will more than likely go pro, but he will always be remembered fondly for that performance last night.

Apologies to Pat for saying Clarkson instead of Swift. I could not remember for the life of me what song you performed. No disrespect intended. On that same note... Shane: "Just passed the Malicela's where Dickey had that badass birthday party."
We might not be friends anymore but I'll never say Shane doesn't speak the truth.

Go Dawgs!

Translation: Screw you Burr Dawgs!
Clean, Old Fashion Hate!

BC @ Appling

BC (5-4; 3-4)
2009
Leading Rusher: John Williams
Most TD's: John Williams (12)
Leadng Tackler: Matt Shay
Luke Boyd: 44 total points
Best Game: 7-6 win over #2 seed WF
Best Performance: Boyd's 3 FG's vs. MCA (37,42,45)

Appling County Pirates (8-1; 6-1)
Coach: J.T. Pollock (2009 AA Athletic Director of the Year)
Offense: Wing-T
Defense: 4-3
Best player: LB Zach Griffis
Other top players: RB Kedrick Spearman, WR Arthur Williams, DB Tate Carter, DL Dale Howard

Despite losing more starters than any other team in Region 2-AA, the Pirates have clinched a playoff spot and still have plenty to play for. A win on Friday coupled with a MCA win over Charlton would give Appling a share of the region title. A win and a Charlton victory would give the Pirates the #2 seed. A loss with a MCA win would put Appling on the road in the 1st round.
2008 was the first region title for Appling since 2000 and first victory against Charlton County, which was ranked No. 2 at the time. But after losing 16 starters, the Region Player of the Year, as well as the Region Defensive POY, few outside of Baxley thought this much success would occur. The Pirates are 1st in total defense in the region. The offense is led by Kendrick Spearman in an offense that will eat up the clock. The home run threat comes from Arthur Williams at WR. The only loss of the year came in a lopsided affair in Folkston. Appling has not lost a regular season home game in 2 years and a win on Friday would give them 18 total wins in that span. Benedictine will present a formidable challenge and has nothing to lose after having their playoff hopes dashed in their last outing.

Playoff Picture:
2-AA:
MCA vs. Charlton
Appling vs. Benedictine
Tattnall vs. Brantley

-Charlton win= Charlton #1, Appling #2, MCA #3
-MCA win & Appling win= 3-way tie for #1. Coin toss to determine playoff seeds.
-MCA win & Appling loss= MCA #1, Charlton #2, Appling #3
-Winner of Tattnall/Brantley= #4 seed

3-AAAAA:
1. Camden
2. Windsor

Beach vs. Windsor
Groves vs. Jenkins
Camden vs. Bradwell

-Jenkins win & Bradwell win= Jenkins # 4, Bradwell # 3
-Jenkins win & Bradwell loss= Jenkins #3, Bradwell #4
-Jenkins loss & Beach win= Beach #4, Bradwell #3

Thats A No No

First of all, Thanks Jack for letting me join Pure Picks. We all have been hearing about the eye gouging controversy surrounding Brandon Spikes and the punishment he received, or lack there of. I was thinking what if UGA player, or in fact any other player, had done that done to Tim Tebow. That player would have been thrown out of college football, tarred and feathered, and sentenced to the lowest level of Hell. I am not making excuses for UGA. They got outplayed, and we are not that good this year. Brandon Spikes could have seriously blinded Washun Ealey, and he deserves to be punish more.

Other Stuff:
1)Martinez needs to go, but at the end of the year.
2)Richt should be calling the plays. They one two SEC Championships when they did. Then again, they had better squads back then.
3) Besides Missing Moreno and Stafford, I think that Sutherland is really missed too
4) Richard Samuel needs to be moved to linebacker next year.
5) Gray is not that good.
6) Tebow will win the Heisman again
7) Slick still owns Columbia
8) I didnt like the black helmets

Final things

- Spikes is a good football player. Terrible person.
- I don't know anyone who could defend Bobo for the constant barrage of play-action out of the I on 3rd and 9. Its embarrassing!!
- Schlabach on black uniforms: "They should have just worn black underwear."
- Against everything I've said, Arron Murray should play this year.
- View the game on replay and watch the Georgia secondary running around in no man's land on both passing and running plays.
- Jacksonville is a great city even without visiting the tracks. I can see why a guy like Reardon lives there.
- Ealey showed some things.
- Charles is a specimen.
- Bryan Evans
- Butler's scholarship is working out better than Bailey's
- Georgia had 10 guys on the field on the Florida FG attempt.
- Over/under on attendance for Tenn Tech: 70,000

I don't know

It doesn't seem like anyone has a definite answer on how Georgia got so bad so quick. I was as positive as anyone after the LSU loss. Today I feel as if this is the worst Georgia football team since the mid- 90's. CWM's scheme after 2 weeks to prepare made Florida's struggling offense look like they were playing against air. Joe Cox is a great guy and has done absolutley everything to be a good leader and good Quarterback. He just isn't good enough. And to all those who begged for Logan Gray, there you go. Those are the glaring problems and there is plenty of blame to go around to individual players and individual coaches. CMR has to do something, I just don't know if he knows what that is or if he will do anything even if he does know. I hhave faith he will figure out something.

On a similar note, it seems like on the day that Paul Johnson was hired, Georgia Tech got on a rocket ship and Georgia was jumping out of a plane.

A trick play in a blowout is done to give future oppoents something else to spend practice time prepareing for. The black Helmets will work similarly as a topic that will lessen the amount of "what the hell is wrong" questions.

"Why is Florida playing Grambling?" - Anonymous

“No, we didn’t know,’’ quarterback Joe Cox said. “It provided a spark. Maybe every now and then you need some change to bring excitement and we needed excitement.’’

"The upshot of this was to make Georgia look like an Arena league team and to cow the nation’s No. 1 team not one whit." - Ching

"The black helmets. Just embarrassing." - Bradley
