Georgia 2013

Georgia needs to win an SEC Championship. If they do, this will go down as one of the best 3 year runs in program history. National Championship is of course the ultimate goal but like every year so many things come down to timing and luck. The SEC is winnable and it could very well be won by a team with 2+ losses. Georgia has to beat Carolina. Without a doubt the biggest game of the year and the biggest game in Sanford Stadium in quite a while. Lose to Clemson and it messes up the weekend. Lose to Carolina and it destroys the season. The schedule is difficult but is manageable after week 2. Carolina's schedule resembles that of Georgia's over the past 2 seasons and I see no way they lose 2 conference games following Georgia. A Georgia win over the Gamecocks doesn't guaranteee a 3rd straight East title, but a loss pretty much eliminates the Dawgs. Best Offensive Player: Todd Gurley Breakout Offensive Player: Chris Conley Underachieveing Offensive Player: Jay Rome Most Indispensable Offensive Player: Aaron Murray Top Newcomer: Reggie Davis --------------------------------------------------------- Best Defensive Player: Jordan Jenkins Breakout Defensive Player: Leonard Floyd Underachieving Defensive Player: Ray Drew Most Indispensable Defensive Player: Amarlo Herrera Top Newcomer: Reggie Carter --------------------------------------------------------- Biggest Game: Carolina Upset Alert: Missouri Toughest SEC Road game: Vandy --------------------------------------------------------- SEC Championship: Alabama over Carolina National Championship: Stanford over Louisville --------------------------------------------------------- The Dawgs are young on defense and that's not good. However, even though I'm not in the camp of Georgia's defense will automatically become better with added depth, I do think the competetion since spring and the lack of expectations could be good. CTG has an opportunity to do whatever he wants with play calling and schemes. The pressure isn't there with so many NFLers and hopefully he will roll the dice and take some chances with what most consider a leaner and faster defense. The defense will give up points but hopefully that can be countered with forced turnovers, and big plays. The offense just can't turn the ball over! Murray, being the ultimate GUNSLINGER, must know when to take his shot and when to live for another day. The O has the whole package from top to bottom if the line takes a natural progression forward. Special teams was a problem last year and I don't see a great reason why it will be spectacular this year. Georgia's record: 10-3

Agree about Ray Drew. I don't think he'll be a Caleb King type bust but he won't be a superstar like most were saying. I just hope he's decent at this point and slightly better than Mudcat.

Agree about Jay Rome but not because he's not good or talented. I certainly didn't see Lynch being an All American tight end. Jay won't get as many snaps so his stats will suffer.

Special Teams: maybe special in the retarded sense.

I have Georgia going 10-2. They'll lose one of the first two and another one down the line. I think Florida is an absolute dumpster fire but Coach Boom can't lose 3 in row to Georgia. So while I think Georgia is better, I feel like that will be the second loss. I think they can still get a BCS game though by virtue of not playing in the SEC Championship game.

Bottom line: WIN WEEK 2 or somebody's ass needs to get firrrrrrrrrrrrreddddddd.
