September 9th Predictions, Part 1

Oregon State @ Boise State - Both teams opened up with I-AA cupcakes, so it’s tough to get a read on either of them. The Beavers have taken two of three from the Broncos, but both of those games were in Corvallis. Boise State has a great home field advantage on that ridiculous blue turf, so I’ll take them to score last in this shootout.
Boise State- 38, Oregon State - 35

Boise will be fine without the Zen Master.

Auburn @ Mississippi State - Auburn was lights out against a sub par Pac-10 team at home, while Mississippi State got shut out by South Carolina in Starkvegas. They may manage a touchdown this time, but Auburn will have far more firepower than the Gamecocks did.
Auburn - 34, Bizarro Bulldogs - 7

Mississippi @ Missouri - The Rebels looked better than they have in a long time last week in winning a rivalry game. Meanwhile, Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel was setting school records for touchdown passes and quarterback rating against Murray State. I want to go with the Tigers here, but I fear the wrath of The Orgeron striking down upon me if I do.
Ole Miss - 27, Mizzou - 24

Don't look directly into his eyes.

Penn State @ Notre Dame - While I have felt that Notre Dame was grossly overrated all off season, I love how the very people who put them so high are now discounting them after the Tech game. Unlike Texas and Ohio State, the Irish went on the road and actually played somebody last weekend, and that’s good enough for me. Though Penn State was better than expected against Akron, I expect to see Notre Dame’s offense start clicking at home.
Notre Dame - 31, Penn State - 20

Hey Lou, Who Ya Got!

Clemson @ Boston College - In the big scheme of things, losing Anthony Waters is huge for Clemson, but I still expect them to have a breakthrough season in 2006. That will all start on the road at Chestnut Hill. And if not for a rare glimpse of Terrence Hennessy’s favorite formation, the Eagles would probably be looking at 0-1.
Clemson - 24, Boston College - 17

Just hang a left at Anderson.
