Brantley County Herons (4-1; 2-1)
Coach: Sean Pender
Offense: Multiple spread
Defense: 3-5-3

Best Player: QB Devon Blankenship

Brantley County had seven all-region players (first or second team) in 2008, and all but one return. That includes QB Devon Blankenship. The Herons are the 6th highest scoring team in the state and scored 52 against a McIntosh County team that has given up no more than 16 points in any other game. Success will depend more heavily on the Herons' defense, which allowed more than 30 points per game in 2008. OL/DL Charles Blankenship, OL/DL Mikel Duenas and OL/DL Cameron Hammit lead the Herons' efforts up front on both sides of the ball. The matchup against Benedictine will pit one of the better defenses in the region against the best offense. Both teams lost to MCA by 4 points. It also might include the two best Kickers in the region. This has been one of the most improved teams in the region, and this game will go a long way in deciding their playoff fate.

*The first ever "Cadet March" will be held at 6:15 on Friday. The players will precess through the Paulson parking lot, then into Memorial Stadium.
