2008 Georgia Game Predictions:
GEORGIA 45 - GSU 10
Georgia Southern will be competitive for a quarter and then struggle in the 2nd and 3rd as Georgia finds its stride. I do think GSU will benefit from having Coach Hatcher at the helm in the long run. However, the opportunity of upsetting the likes of Georgia and Oregon State have become significantly more unlikely due to no longer running the Triple Option.
GEORGIA 34- Central Michigan 21
I feel that this one will be a lot closer than Georgia fans expect. CMU is a mid-major but they are one of the better ones. The QB is a legit NFL prospect and Georgia will sleep walk through the 1st half unlike any other half they will play all year. I wouldn't be surprised to see CMU leading at some point.
GEORGIA 24- South Carolina 13
Close game early but I don't see Carolina scoring much. Georgia is better and unless USC gets a surprise at QB, those 13 might be coming late.
GEORGIA 31- ASU 27
We will know a lot about Georgia after this one. A 1 point win would be just as good as any on a trip that will test Georgia's emotion between 2 huge SEC games and a long, long plane ride. I think the hype during the week will help Georgia get up.
GEORGIA 20- BAMA 17
Play this game Week 1 Georgia wins by double digits. 3rd big boy game in a row with the middle one being in Arizona is rough. Bama being @ ARK the week before helps a little but Georgia will struggle at times and hope for Walsh to come through.
GEORGIA 26 - Tennessee 13
The week off will be a huge asset for Georgia and will dominate much of the game. Tennessee catches 4 of the SEC east teams after their bye week. Look for A.J. Green to begin making an impact right around here.
GEORGIA 34- VANDY 20
The time of this game will play a role in the final score. Early game: closer / Later game: not as close.
GEORGIA 23- LSU 22
Georgia will get Lucky.
FLORIDA 38- Georgia 35
This will be Georgia's 6th big boy game of the year and Florida's defense will be the difference. They will be just good enough to create some turnovers and if there is any game that Georgia will not get the bounces it will surely be this one.
GEORGIA 48- Kentucky 10
Kentucky will finish last in the SEC east and catches Georgia on a bad week. Georgia rarely plays well in the bluegrass but this year will be different.
Auburn 20- Georgia 14
The pass rush of Auburn might make the difference. If the offense can acclimate itself to the new system, Auburn could be really good. The tackles for Georgia could mature and get better as the season progresses, but without Sturdivant it will be a point of concern for much of the season and it will never show more than on the Plains.
GEORGIA 74- Tech 2
5 FEARLESS PREDICTIONS:
1. Wofford will make the 1-AA National Championship game.
2. Notre Dame will play in the Gator Bowl.
3. Blair Walsh will make a kick to win a game and miss a kick to lose one.
4. North Carolina will play Wake Forest in the ACC championship.
5. At one point in a game Rick will think Georgia is losing when we are actually winning.
5 UPSETS:
- Utah over Michigan
- Duke over Miami
- Miss State over Alabama
- Iowa St. over Nebraska
- Colorado over Texas
