My Take

As everyone knows it doesn't get any bigger than Saturday. As a fellow poster has stated, enjoy it. However, I have not had this little confidence about the dawgs going into a game since Georgia-Florida in 2001. No matter what, the day,the atmosphere, the feel, and the game are going to be unbelievable. Looking at the schedule for the rest of the season Georgia is bound to lose. Florida, Auburn, and even Tech are probaly better than Tennessee right now. So as a Georgia fan I am rooting my ass off for Bama, Auburn, and LSU from here on out. It is very possible for Georgia to lose 2 conference games and still find their way to Atlanta. With Florida defeating the Vols a few weeks ago, if Georgia was to lose this week the season is by no means over, it just gets a little tougher. Georgia caught a break with the schedule this year being able to play the 2 worst teams in the west. If Georgia was playing the schedule the Gators have I'm afraid to say we would probaly be fighting for a spot in Memphis or Shreveport. But Richt has managed past Colorado and Ole Miss to make this game into what it is. The underdog role is something Georgia doesn't get to play too often and hopefully that will work to our benefit. No matter what happens this will be the type of day that makes being a student at this University worth it.

* 6 of the Top 10 teams in AAAAA are from South Georgia. Its taken over a decade and a majority of State Championships at each classification for those Yankee transplants to figure out where the best football is being played.

*Nick Faldo is the new CBS golf analyst. CBS has by far the best coverage of almost everything including Golf and College Football. I don't know if Nick is the right fit because I have not heard him enough but I never liked Lanny and Nick was a lot better golfer.

*I miss Todd Blackledge doing the CBS games with Vern Lunquist. I think he is the best analyst in College Football and for those at home this weekend he is scheduled to do the Georgia-Tennessee game. Sean McDonough and Mike Godfrey are very underrated as well and need to be given better assignments. On the other hand, even Mike Tingle would do a better job than Bill Curry and Bob Davie is a worse commentator than he was a coach.

*8. Ohio St.-- Seems to be the fancy pick this preseason but i dont buy it as much as others. I believe they lost to much from last year and are going to have to play a style unusual to Tressel. No doubt they will be good but not as good as everyone thinks.[GTW: at Iowa]
--- That was my pre-season thought on the Buckeyes. Boy was I wrong. OSU is the clear #1 right now and cannot see them stumbleing with Michigan coming to the Horseshoe this year.

*Fuddruckers opened in Savannah on Monday and Pat Prokop said that the sky of clouds parted and the sun began to shine as the ribbon was cut. Two other possible sites are in the works, a Pooler location(Will you will like it), and a downtown spot.

*5. Rick will think we are losing when we are actually winning at least once this year. ( I think this week is the best chance for my 5th Gaurantee for 2006 to come true)

*Georgia Tech is for real and Calvin Johnson has reassured my belief that he is the best player in the nation. The win over Virginia Tech, helped by a Touchdown from Bradwell graduate Gary Guyton, made Tech look like a BCS contender even with Reggie Ball as their QB. Any one of the 4 Quarterbacks at Georgia right now would make Tech a better team. And to add to Tech's success right now, they are putting together one of their best recruiting classes since the days of Bobby Ross.

*South Park season 10 premiers Wednesday at 10:00.

Go to the Dawgwalk this week. There is no excuse with as much time as we have to tailgate and it wont ever get more electric than it will this Saturday. Enjoy the whole game week leading up to Saturday and if you think it might help, first Friday mass is at Noon at St. Joe's and rumor has it Ms. Beddow will be in town and "We are the Church Happy to be the Children in God's Family" might be on the playlist.

Go Dawgs, Go Cadets, and 163 Days.

By the way, who was the last road favorite to come into Sanford Stadium? The French soccer team in the '96 Olympics?

LSU already had a loss in 2004, as did Tennessee in 2002. Was it the Vols in the goalpost game, or am I forgetting someone?
